Tokio Marine Kiln is part of the Tokio Marine Group – one of the largest insurance groups in the world.
TMK's syndicates benefit from Lloyd's own ratings, A (excellent) from AM Best, A+ (strong) from Standard & Poor's and AA- (very strong) from Fitch. This is significant as the Lloyd’s financial strength ratings apply to every policy issued by every syndicate at Lloyd’s.
Our Lloyd's Syndicates
Our Lloyd’s platform is one of the largest managing agents in the Lloyd’s insurance market, where we manage four syndicates.
Tokio Marine Kiln’s combined Syndicate 510 comprises six divisions: Property & Special Lines; Marine & Special Risks; Reinsurance; Accident & Health; Aviation; and Enterprise Risk. Tokio Marine Kiln is a recognised market leader in each of these business areas. All of the teams have a high level of underwriting authority, which, coupled with a robust peer-review process, results in quick, sound decision-making for brokers and customers.
Syndicate 557 is positioned as a special purpose syndicate to write a quota share reinsurance of the business of Syndicate 510’s Reinsurance division, primarily comprising a portfolio of US and international property catastrophe reinsurance.
The syndicate is supported entirely by capital from Tokio Marine Kiln's parent, Tokio Marine Group. The syndicate reinsures risks from Syndicate 510, as well as writing other Third Party, Large Commercial Property and Engineering business.
Tokio Marine Kiln Syndicates Limited has applied for the cessation of its Life syndicate 308 to Lloyd's and the syndicate members, subject to Lloyd's consent. We are committed to ensuring existing business is serviced to the highest standards and that there will be no detriment to policyholders as a result of this action. No other syndicates or business lines, including Accident & Health business written through Syndicate 510, are affected by this decision. Further communications will be shared once these discussions have concluded.
Lloyd’s strength and robust capitalisation is reflected in its ratings.
